about this program
Join Tina Brouwer, our resident bird nerd, and other volunteers, for outings and bird-centric experiences at the Red Oaks campus and other locations throughout Kentucky. Tina has a Master's Degree in Peregrine Falcon Ecology and a passion for the wonder and delight that comes from observing birds. She is a certified Southern Appalachian Naturalist and the co-creator and teacher of Red Oaks' Taking Flight - Next Level.
Birding Club is a free program offered by Red Oaks in order to remove barriers and increase access to nature-based programming for all. Binoculars and field guides are available for new birders. All skill levels and ages are welcome.
This club is free, but donations are accepted and appreciated! We thank you for contributing if you can to support our Taking Flight - Next Level (TFNL) program. All proceeds go directly to scholarships for students. TFNL provides unique and continuous Environmental Education and STEAM learning to students of all backgrounds. Learn more about that program here.
Join us on Facebook at Red Oaks Birding Club, where we can share all things birds and post upcoming events for in-person outings. Meet-ups are flexible meaning you can come and go as you please and as time allows. Updates regarding cancellations or rescheduling is posted in our FB page.
